Video Metaphor – The Interactive Chart Shouldn’t be Overused!
I’m not sure if you know about the movie Galaxy Quest, but I keep thinking about this one scene from the movie where they discuss how the spaceship’s turbo boost is only for quick bursts… I keep thinking that is what over using your interactive chart looks like. So I went and found the clip, and I thought I’d share in case other’s would enjoy it too. 🙂

If you want the follow up joke, this is when they realize how badly they’ve broken their spaceship:
(now that I think about it, this 2nd video is an apt metaphor for a projector whose been trying to operate like a generator)
The premise of the movie is that Aliens think a syndicated TV show is real, make a real space ship and come get the actors to help them defeat their enemy. These actors don’t really know how to fly a real spaceship. 🙂 Not unlike trying to understanding our own operating HD system I suppose. 😉
